ABOUT THE PROJECT
SITUATION
During Torino 2008 World Design Capital I’ve participated to the International Summer Design School ‘Designing Connected Places’. Among six workshop, I participad to the FOOD NETWORKS - Design for sustainable food systems, directed by Prof. Anna Meroni and the Spanish designer Martí Guixé.
APPROACH
The local Piedmontese food system is made by small producers who represents the territory. They often work outside the rules (economic and logistic) of intensive production and large-scale distribution. The project wants to promote and communicate the food system based on proximity and quality, providing consumers with the cultural tools to make informative choices and support local producers. The final concept ‘Locale of the Locale’ (a play of word between local and shop) intervenes throughout both production and supply chain allowing the right visibility, recognisability and accessibility of food. The concept is to bring producers and consumers closer, enhancing their emotional experiences when shopping.
